Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Church Growth Trust
Caring for people and protecting them from harm is an important part of living out our Christian faith.
At Church Growth Trust (CGT), we believe everyone we come into contact with through our work should be treated with care, dignity and respect. Our commitment to safeguarding reflects both our Christian values and our responsibility to protect people from harm.
Although Church Growth Trust does not work directly with children or adults with care and support needs, our work brings us into contact with church leaders and trustees, occupying churches, staff, volunteers, contractors and others. We take our responsibility towards all those we work with seriously.
We are committed to maintaining a culture where safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and handled appropriately. Our staff, trustees and volunteers are expected to understand their responsibilities and raise any concerns that arise through their work with CGT.
Safeguarding within local churches
Churches occupying CGT buildings are independent organisations and are responsible for their own safeguarding arrangements. We encourage occupying churches to have appropriate safeguarding policies in place and can signpost churches to specialist safeguarding guidance and support.
